Wind For Change

Good Morning!! In the Book of Acts, the coming of the Holy Spirit to the church on the day of Pentecost is described as a "violent wind." As believers in Christ, we are given the gift of the Holy Spirit who has the power to comfort us, convict us, empower us, and intercede for us. But everyone of us has a choice in how we respond to the wind of the Holy Spirit, in our lives. The timid try hiding from it. The unbeliever simply moves along, ignoring it. The saved, however, use the wind to soar higher.

But they could not stand up against the wisdom the Spirit gave him as he spoke.—Acts 6:10 (NIV)

When I allow the Holy Spirit to guide my thoughts and actions, I sense God's power lifting my vision to see the needs of others more clearly. God empowers me to collect food for the hungry soul, write notes to the fearful and discouraged, or share the love of Jesus with those who simply feel unloved.

Yield to the Spirit of God,...and do impossible things.

God of grace and glory, thank You for giving us Your Holy Spirit. Help us to rely on the Spirit's power every day as we seek a closer walk with You. Amen.

"Sin magnifies fear, and Obedience increases faith,
...it's really just that simple."
