Together,...Not So Much

Good Morning!! Most people have experienced disunity,...at home, at work and even in church. When it happens we are often shocked and dismayed,...but it doesn't surprise God. Remember how Jesus prayed for us on the night of his arrest? He prayed that we would be brought to complete unity. He knew that unity is not automatic, and he prayed for us.

Live in harmony with one another.—Romans 12:16 (NIV)

Jesus called us brothers and sisters, and in many ways the church is like a family. Sometimes families squabble. But Romans 12 reveals two keys that will undo the gridlock of disunity. These keys are love and humility: "Love one another with mutual affection; outdo one another in showing honor" (Rom. 12:10).

Believers living in harmony is music to God's ears,
...and an example to the world.

Dear God, fill us with Your power to love. May the harmonies of Your love flow through us,...and into the world. In Jesus' name, Amen.

"We cannot experience the fullness of Christ, until we learn to love even our enemies."
