With The Father, Through The Son

Good Morning!! What do you want for Christmas this year...peace for your situation, joy for your sadness, assurance or comfort in your fears, or is it guidance for your future? Why not ask God for those things? So much of our focus this time of year, is self-centered, instead of Christ-centered. With every new catalog arriving in the mail, or t.v commercial we see, the list grows,...the list complied of all that we wish for. Honestly, I still find myself doing the same thing...making a list of things I want. But when did Christmas become all about "me" ? I believe that when we fall into this "me" trap,...we consequently miss Christmas altogether. Christmas is, and should only be about one person...God's Son. So often our problem is that we seek Christ's blessings, rather than seeking Him,...as if He were none other than Santa Claus.
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."—Matthew 7:7 (NIV)

The Word does after-all say, "Ask, and it shall be given to you." The problem is we are asking for the wrong thing. God desires that we seek Him above all else, and then trust that He will provide whatever we need. Most of us tend to go about it in the wrong way,...backwards. Our motive is for God to give us our longings,...and then we will worship Him.

As of yet, we haven't fully realized that all we desire is wrapped up in the person of Jesus Christ,...and if we have Him,...we have it all!

Father God, we confess that we have sought Your hand more than Your heart. Help us come to realize that what we should desire the most, is You. Please fill us with Your presence so that we may experience life this season,...and forever,...the way You intended. In Jesus' name. Amen.
" Remember Jesus Is the reason,...for the season ."
