God Gives Us Value

Good Morning!! On a recent trip to Wal-Mart, walking from my truck, I spotted a penny near the doors,...coming from a generation that picked up pennies, I picked up the penny and took a closer look. It was bent, scarred and just plain ugly. I kept it any way. I keep that penny at home in a large water jug, with other pennies. It reminds me of a time when I, and the world, saw me as bent, scarred, ugly, and worthless.

Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?—Matthew 6:26 (NRSV)

Like that penny,...most of the world passed me by, seeing no reason to stop. It's also a reminder that there is One in our life, who sees our worth, and takes time for us. Jesus,...not only did He noticed us; He died for us. That in itself, makes us all worth something!

When we love with consistency,...we are most like God.

God, thank You for loving us. Now open our eyes, to see others who feel worthless, on our path through life. Give us the love to attend to them, and love them, as You have us. Amen.
