Who Is Holding You Accountable?

Good Morning, My Friend!! We all need accountability. We need folks in our life, who aren't afraid to ask us the tough questions. We need friends who aren't afraid to say the hard things,...dig a little deeper, and speak the truth,...even if we don't want to hear it. None of us have "truly arrived" yet, in our Christian walk. We need relationships with others who will challenge us, encourage us, and frankly, call us out, when we go off the beaten path. Lack of accountability in one's life almost certainly leads to the danger zone. Don't do life alone,....we need help in our parenting, our friendships, our work,....God made us for relationship. We need someone to sometimes say to us, "What did you just say to that person,...you say you care about? Couldn't you have said that nicer?" or "Have you been thinking about God's plan for your life,...and those around you?" or "Have you asked God about it?" God works through people. I have found more often than not, when someone says such a thing to me,...it's God's gentle reminder to keep, or put me back on track.

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.Proverbs 27:17 (NIV)

People are often reluctant to open up, says things like, "Yeah, I don't really like people getting all into my business." or "I'm kind of a private person." or "I prefer to listen more than share",...and I do get that. Not everyone is a babbling brook, that needs to share every emotion or thought, the moment they experience it,...like yours truly. But accountability is scriptural. We all should have someone that we are locking arms with in life,...that isn't afraid to gently remind us of God's plan for us.

The hardest thing about ministry, is accountability, because it's certainly easier to ignore behavior, than to address it,
...especially when the other party isn't open to receiving direction.

Holy Spirit of God, keep us all open to godly wisdom, and counsel. Let us crave it. As we pray things like, "God give me wisdom. Show me Your ways. Help me grow closer to You daily,"...help us to see when He delivers that through others. Amen.

"Faith helps us walk fearlessly,
run confidently,
and live victoriously."
