Move Only Through Christ

Good Morning, It's Thankful, Thoughtful Thursday!!For Christians, life is mediated. That is to say our relationships are always mediated through Christ. We know that we relate to God the Father only through Christ. Jesus is our mediator. But we also relate to others only through Christ. All we say and do must pass through Christ. Any unchecked, disputes between church leaders, disrupt our witness and runs the risk of polarizing the congregation.

I plead with Euodia and I plead with Syntyche to agree with each other in the Lord.—Philippians 4:2 (NIV)

In our judicial system we sometimes talk to each other through lawyers. Our lawyer puts our case in the best light. His goal is for us to win. In the church we talk to each other through Christ. He puts the other's case in the best light. His goal is for us to be reconciled.

"His (Jesus) goal is to break down barriers and reach people,
not to set up barriers through hatred, resentment, bearing grudges or retribution.
None of these will help bring others to Christ."
(The Man God Uses, Henry & Tom Blackaby, p. 117)

Lord Jesus, let nothing be said outside of You. Amen.

"We show our faith better with our life, than we do with our lips."
