Good Morning!! I think that "the knowledge of the Lord" is a well worked theme of Hosea’s prophecy. Knowledge, though, must be understood not merely as information about God,...but rather a deep relationship with God. This kind of knowledge is best mirrored by that of a husband and wife,...in right relationship,...it's just that intimate.
"Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.—Hosea 4:6b (NIV)
Right relationships require both forgiving and forgeting. Holding onto even a little hurt or anger, will evetually poison a relationship. It effects how you hear and are heard,...how you act towards,...how you speak to,...and how you feel about the other person. Regaurdless to what has been said or done,...we must love, as God continues to love us.
Our call is to grow in the "knowledge of the Lord",
...not just to learn more about God,
...but to deepen our relationship with Him, and others.
Thank You, Lord, that Your work in us, and through us, is not confined by our limitatios or shortcomings. In Jesus' name, Amen.
"A wise person is hungry for knowledge, while the fool feeds on trash."
