Good Morning, My Friend!! Have Patience With Yourself, And Others As We All Learn to "Walk The Talk". Paul
repeatedly stresses the importance of us leading lives that are worthy
of the Lord. Paul himself takes great care to make his words credible by
behaving in a manner that will reflect well on Christ. But as the
Russian writer Leo Tolstoy once commented, "Blame me - I do that myself -
but not the path I tread . . . If I know the road home and go along it
drunk, staggering from side to side - does that make the road along
which I go the wrong one?"
We put no stumbling block in anyone's path, so that our ministry will not be discredited.—2 Corinthians 6:3 (NIV)
Of course, there is
no excuse for believers to willfully live morally shoddy lives. If we
want others to follow us, as we follow Jesus,...then our lives should make
the Christian faith more attractive. This doesn't require perfection, but rather a humble spirit expressed in lives that are generous, full of gratitude, and graceful even under pressure.
Just a reminder; Crisis doesn't develop character,...it can only reveal it.
We are created in Christ Jesus, to walk as He walked,...and to do the things He did while He was on earth."
(The Man God Uses, Henry & Tom Blackaby, p. 62)
"Grace is free,...but it's never cheap."
